What:  The B-SAFE Program (Boston’s Summer Academic & Fun Enrichment) is a five-week, full day academic and enrichment program. Students develop skills in humanities, math, science, health & wellness, and the arts. On Fridays, students enjoy field trips and travel outside the city to lakes, farms, and parks. 

When: July 6 - August 7, 2026

8:30am to 4:00pm Monday – Friday

Who: B-SAFE is open to students entering grades 1-8

• LEARN: Grades 1-4

• YLC *(Youth Leadership Corps): Grades 5-8

 *Optional overnight camp opportunity at Barbara  C. Harris Camp in N. H. (August -6)

How do I register?

In order to register you will need:

• Child’s most recent physical

• Child’s immunizations

• Child’s health insurance information

• Proof of public assistance (MassHealth, SNAP, public housing, etc.)

Program Fees:

• If your family does not qualify for any public assistance programs, the program fee is $600.00

• If your family qualifies for MassHealth, the federal free lunch program, SNAP, WIC, public housing or another form of public assistance, the program fee for the summer is $450.00. Please use the discount code SSYP450 when checking out to reduce the cost by $150. Families may be asked to provide proof of public assistance.

  • $300 for 2nd child

  • $200 for 3rd child

ONLINE PAYMENTS - You are welcome to pay online. Our registration system will allow you to “Pay in Full” or to select a payment plan. We currently can provide 2 options for automated payment plans online. With both plans the initial installment will be charged on June 15th (or immediately upon registration after June 15th) and the automated payments schedule will be either weekly for 5 weeks or monthly for 3 months from there. You individual payment schedule will be based on the first date of payment.

OFFLINE PAYMENTS - We will still be accepting CASH or MONEY ORDER (NO PERSONAL CHECKS PLEASE). If you select this option we will enroll the participant in the program, but their spot will not be secured until a deposit of $100 is paid. Any Offline payments should be communicated with the site director.

B-SAFE - Teen Edition. We are hiring teens to be Counselors-In-Training (CIT) for meaningful jobs that will be fully in-person, working with younger participants, and have in-person leadership development trainings, including professional development, academic coaching, career exploration, social and emotional support, and fun events. Leadership Staff Application - (Site Assistants, Lead Counselors, & Specialists) - CLICK HERE TO APPLY - For B-SAFE 2026 we are hiring for in-person young adult staff to be our LEAD COUNSELORS, SITE ASSISTANTS, and ENRICHMENT SPECIALISTS. Due to the nature of the grants that fund these positions we are primarily restricted to hiring individuals ages 19-25 for these grant funded positions. All Leadership Staff are required to attend B-SAFE Staff Training June 24 - July 2 and must be available to work M-F July 6 - August 7. While a cover letter is not required for your application, it is very strongly recommended. 
Please note that all available summer positions are Seasonal Contract Positions and as such are not eligible for benefits.
