Mass‌ ‌Mentoring‌ ‌Partnership‌‌ ‌AmeriCorps‌ ‌Ambassadors‌ ‌of‌ ‌Mentoring‌‌ ‌support‌ ‌mentoring‌ ‌across‌ ‌the‌ ‌

Commonwealth‌ ‌to‌ ‌improve‌ ‌positive‌ ‌outcomes‌ ‌for‌ ‌youth‌ ‌by‌ ‌building‌ ‌capacity‌ ‌in‌ ‌key‌ ‌program‌ ‌areas‌ ‌such‌ ‌

as‌ ‌mentor‌ ‌recruitment,‌ ‌screening,‌ ‌and‌ ‌training.‌ ‌Projects‌ ‌focus‌ ‌on‌ ‌developing‌ ‌new‌ ‌or‌ ‌strengthening‌ ‌

current‌ ‌mentoring‌ ‌programming‌ ‌to‌ ‌serve‌ ‌youth‌ ‌ages‌ ‌7-24.‌ ‌ ‌

Mass‌ ‌Mentoring‌ ‌Partnership‌‌ ‌(MMP)‌ ‌is‌ ‌fueling‌ ‌the‌ ‌movement‌ ‌to‌ ‌expand‌ ‌empowering‌ ‌youth-adult‌ ‌

relationships‌ ‌to‌ ‌meet‌ ‌the‌ ‌needs‌ ‌of‌ ‌communities‌ ‌across‌ ‌Massachusetts.‌ ‌MMP‌ ‌serves‌ ‌more‌ ‌than‌ ‌370‌ ‌

programs‌ ‌statewide,‌ ‌supporting‌ ‌over‌ ‌30,000‌ ‌youth‌ ‌in‌ ‌quality‌ ‌relationships.‌ ‌

Position‌ ‌Description:‌ ‌

The‌ ‌Coordinator‌ ‌of‌ ‌Elementary‌ ‌Mentoring‌ ‌at‌ ‌SSYP‌ ‌will‌ ‌serve‌ ‌on‌ ‌a‌ ‌team‌ ‌of‌ ‌mentoring‌ ‌coordinators,‌ ‌each‌ ‌

focused‌ ‌on‌ ‌one‌ ‌age‌ ‌cohort,‌ ‌and‌ ‌will‌ ‌expand‌ ‌and‌ ‌improve‌ ‌SSYP’s‌ ‌current‌ ‌mentoring‌ ‌efforts.‌ ‌The‌ ‌AOM‌ ‌will‌ ‌

recruit,‌ ‌train,‌ ‌coach,‌ ‌and‌ ‌support‌ ‌all‌ ‌mentors‌ ‌working‌ ‌with‌ ‌our‌ ‌80‌ ‌elementary‌ ‌schoolers.‌ ‌By‌ ‌coordinating‌ ‌

and‌ ‌supporting‌ ‌the‌ ‌40+‌ ‌mentors,‌ ‌the‌ ‌AOM‌ ‌will‌ ‌increase‌ ‌the‌ ‌number‌ ‌of‌ ‌trained‌ ‌mentors‌ ‌serving‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌

elementary‌ ‌program.‌ ‌The‌ ‌AOM‌ ‌will‌ ‌also‌ ‌work‌ ‌directly‌ ‌with‌ ‌one‌ ‌group‌ ‌of‌ ‌15‌ ‌elementary‌ ‌schoolers‌ ‌and‌ ‌

their‌ ‌mentors‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌afterschool‌ ‌program.‌ ‌ ‌

The‌ ‌AOM‌ ‌will‌ ‌ ‌

●increase‌ ‌the‌ ‌circle‌ ‌of‌ ‌caring‌ ‌adults‌ ‌in‌ ‌the‌ ‌life‌ ‌of‌ ‌each‌ ‌elementary‌ ‌school‌ ‌student‌ ‌in‌ ‌SSYP‌ ‌

●create‌ ‌program‌ ‌activities‌ ‌to‌ ‌foster‌ ‌trust‌ ‌and‌ ‌relationship-building‌ ‌skills‌ ‌for‌ ‌elementary‌ ‌schoolers‌ ‌

  • Develop‌ ‌and‌ ‌adapt‌ ‌mentor‌ ‌training‌ ‌curriculum‌ ‌to‌ ‌ensure‌ ‌all‌ ‌mentors‌ ‌have‌ ‌ongoing,‌ ‌age-‌ ‌and‌ ‌developmentally-appropriate‌ ‌training‌ ‌and‌ ‌support.‌ ‌

●Create‌ ‌programs,‌ ‌trainings,‌ ‌and‌ ‌activities‌ ‌that‌ ‌foster‌ ‌healthy‌ ‌adult-youth‌ ‌relationships‌ ‌and‌ ‌
